Do you remember the speaker in conference (Elder Carl B. Cook) who shared this story:
At the end of a particularly tiring day toward the end of my first week as a General Authority, my briefcase was overloaded and my mind was preoccupied with the question “How can I possibly do this?” I left the office of the Seventy and entered the elevator of the Church Administration Building. As the elevator descended, my head was down and I stared blankly at the floor. The door opened and someone entered, but I didn’t look up. As the door closed, I heard someone ask, “What are you looking at down there?” I recognized that voice—it was President Thomas S. Monson.
I quickly looked up and responded, “Oh, nothing.” (I’m sure that clever response inspired confidence in my abilities!)
But he had seen my subdued countenance and my heavy briefcase. He smiled and lovingly suggested, while pointing heavenward, “It is better to look up!”I had no idea that Jack even heard this story. We never talked about that story with him but apparently it stuck with him. About a month later Jared was trying to teach Jack how to button his jeans. Jared kept telling Jack to, "look down." Jared was guiding Jack's head down with his hand and told him to, "look down." After about the tenth time Jared was getting frustrated and Jack was not interested at all. Then Jack looked at Jared and said, "Dad the Prophet said it is better to look up"!! I have to tell you I started laughing so hard and Jared's jaw dropped...that was the end of the lesson!

He has a memory like a steel trap ... I'm totally impressed!
That just warmed my heart - LOVE that little Jackson!
ps-Even though when we're skyping it seems like all Sawyer is interested in is either showing or seeing toys - he is always talking about Jack! The other day he was talking about his "buddies" and naming his best buddies and he was quiet for a moment and ended the list with "Mommy, Jackson is my buddy, too". He can't stop talking about Jackson's BIG scorpians! So funny. They really do take note, even when we don't notice!
pss-I photographed a 6 month old baby girl yesterday and her name was Emerson. They call her "Emers" or "Emy". :) just fyi.
